What Do I Want To Be?

I lose control of studying English because I have no clear vision.

If I have a clear vision for the future, I will do my best for that aim.

However, I still don't find my own way to be.

Do I want to be a clinical psychologist?

What I need now is to research about jobs.

What Type of Degree Do Clinical Psychologists Need?
While some individuals find work with a master’s degree, most positions require a doctoral degree in clinical psychology. Some graduate programs accepts applicants with undergraduate degrees in other disciplines, but most encourage students to get a bachelor’s degree in psychology before pursuing graduate study in clinical psychology.
There are two major training models for doctoral degrees. The traditional Ph.D. in Psychology (or Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology) emphasizes the role of the research and science. The Psy.D. degree (Doctor of Psychology) is primarily focused on clinical and practitioner work. Psy.D. programs are attractive to many students because they typically take approximately a year less time to complete than a Ph.D. On the other hand, Ph.D. programs tend to provide better funding of graduate students.

How Much Do Clinical Psychologists Earn?
In a 2000 survey by the American Psychological Association, the the average salary for a licensed clinical psychologist was $87,015. Out of the surveyed psychologists, 15 percent worked in group medical settings, 57 percent worked in private practice and two percent were employed in some other human services setting.
According to Payscale.com, typical salaries for clinical psychologists range between $51,885 and $90,330. However, it is important to note that several different factors can impact the salary you might expect including level of education, years of experience, work setting and geographic location.
For example, for clinical psychologist working in private practice with five years of experience, the average salary in 2009 was $54,000. For those with 10 to 14 years of experience, the average wage was nearly $100,000.

If I study abroad, it will take more than 7 years to be a clinical psychologist.
I even don't have a bachelor degree, it must take more than 2 years at least.
My grandfather tells me that he can afford $1,000,000 for my tuition.
However, it is not enough if I want to take a Doctor of Psychology.
What are you thinking about? I mean I have no problem about studying now.
Think it again when you face with the reality.
I'm afraid that I cannot be anything.
My colleagues began to work in companies, though I still don't graduate.
Don't compare with others.  That's definitely no worth thinking.
What I do is to concentrate on things that I can do today and in the future.
Don't feel misery with comparisons. That's meaningless.
Bear in mind, you are on the right track.
After struggling much in English, you can achieve a great dream in the future.
There is no reason for you to lose self-esteem.  Make it sure.
I can be anything if I work harder.  Where there's a will, there's a way.
So, what do you wanna be?  I wanna be rich.  I wanna live in a foreign country.
I wanna work with people from all over the world, and feel freely living on this planet.
I feel pain now, so I just wanna reduce the pain in order to live my life fully.

Fake it until you make it

Pretend as if you have already done something that you want to do.

I want to study abroad, so I listen lectures in English even though I cannot understand all.

Do as if you have done.

I'm reading textbooks in English, taking notes in English, and writing blogs in English.

This is a way to improve abilities.

I'm interested in psychology, so I listen to lectures of psychology and read about psychology.

Today, I learned helplessness explained by experiments of dogs.

After learning helplessness, dogs could not move even they can.

When I hear that, I suppose I AM in the same situation.

I fear that I fail or make mistakes. That's why I cannot study harder.

If I concentrate on studying English, I may face the reality of difficulties.

I don't wanna face harsh situations, so I just still avoid to face the real.

However, I know I cannot avoid forever.

Maybe it's time to overcome difficulties and be stronger.

There is nothing that I lose.

I'm living on the planet. That's enough. I'm perfect.

From now on, I am going to study for TOEFL on Saturday.

I am scared to face the reality, but this anxiety makes me strong.

Stress makes me social.

If you want to master foreign language, what should you do?

I started to watch videos on Youtube in English.

It's difficult to avoid speaking Japanese in Japan.

However, I can improve my English skill in many ways.

Language is a tool to communicate with others.

Therefore, we can collect information in any languages as we want.

Korean people living in Japan read Korean news on the web.

Chinese people living in Japan watch Chinese program on the Internet.

Language is one of the most important to form people to that person.

For this reason, people who study abroad tend to gather with people from same country.

Anyway, I try to think in English.

To do so, I read an article in English and watch videos in English.

That's all.

Critical Thinking

In the American College Experience class, we learned what Critical Thinking is.

Critical Thinking consists of four parts.

Analysis- identify the problem

Interpretation- understanding (internal)

Synthesis- understanding (external- combine)

Evaluation- judgement

Though there are several definitions of the word Critical Thinking, all are similarly.

We can analyze, interpret, synthesize, and evaluate using this method.

It's quite easy to follow the format. There are some framework to think creative.

In liberal arts, we need to explain why I agree/disagree with the opinion.

We can use below ways;

  • hypothetical
  • personal
  • real world

When I disagree with other's opinion, I try to use phrases that we learned in the class.
