Question:
To be responsible adults, children should learn to manage their
own money at a young age.
Growing up
without the ability to manage their own money causes one to have trouble
easily. Now, we cannot live without money. Some people spend their money on
gambling. Others save their money for their future. How one spends money distinguishes
qualities of one’s life. Therefore, knowing how to handle money is one of the essential
skills for human. It’s good to learn how to manage money in young age to make their
lives smoother.
First,
education about money is not common. For example, teachers at school don’t
teach how to deal with money. Once, students enter university, they may major
economics or accounting but there’re no subjects about how to manage one’s
money in personal level. Therefore, it is parents that take a role of teaching
the way to handle the skill about money. At younger age, children negotiate their
wish to buy snacks or goods. If parents give them whenever they want to,
children always expect their parents to buy for them. Then, parents have choice
to give certain amount of money to children and they can buy a product when one
saves enough. This is one of the necessary lessons for young children to learn
wait. Some adults get in trouble of debts. They loan beyond the ability of payment.
Second, the ways
to spend money decide one’s quality of life. One can choose to either A or B.
He always has an option to choose what kind of service he consumes. Knowing
what he values leads his actions. For example, a child buys snacks with friends
once a week but he wants to buy comic books. Then, he needs to reduce the
frequency of buying snacks.
Thus, learning
about money in young age is important.
